Mo Salah's reaction to Luis Diaz's disallowed goal in Liverpool's 2-1 loss to Tottenham on Saturday evening was evident in his post-match social media activity.

The Egyptian forward had skillfully set up Diaz during the first half, only for the Colombian's strike to be disallowed due to an offside call, a decision that subsequent replays proved to be incorrect.

beIN SPORTS shared a clip featuring Richard Keys and Andy Gray exposing the officials' failure to correctly identify that Salah was onside when the goal was scored. Salah later 'liked' this post on his social media account (@MoSalah).

It doesn't take a detective to infer Salah's frustration with the disallowed goal, and he had every reason to be upset.

At the time, it appeared to be a glaring officiating error, one that wasn't rectified even after a VAR review of the incident. The PGMOL later acknowledged "a significant human error," as the usual offside lines on the screen were conspicuously absent (as reported by BBC Sport).

While fans, players, and managers understand that officials can make mistakes, when there's such a systemic failure in a crucial moment like with the Diaz goal, it becomes hard to accept.

Refereeing bodies can issue all the apologies they want after the fact, but their representatives must strive for higher standards. Such errors are detracting from the enjoyment of the Premier League week after week.
