European Giants in Race for Argentine Wonderkid Thiago Almada: Milan, Real Madrid, and Man City Eye €30M Sensation

The race for one of the most promising young talents in South America is heating up, as three European giants are reportedly keeping tabs on him. According to AS, Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester City are all interested in signing Thiago Almada, a 20-year-old attacking midfielder who plays for Velez Sarsfield in Argentina.

Almada is considered as one of the best prospects in his country, and has already made 65 appearances for Velez, scoring 12 goals and providing 10 assists. He can play in various positions across the front line, and has been compared to Lionel Messi for his dribbling skills, creativity and vision.

The Argentine starlet has a release clause of €30m in his contract, which expires in 2023. However, Velez are hoping to extend his deal and increase his clause to €40m, as they are aware of the growing interest from Europe. Almada has also been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and Atletico Madrid in the past, but none of these clubs have made a formal offer yet.

Milan are said to be the most keen on Almada, as they see him as a potential replacement for Hakan Calhanoglu, who will leave the club as a free agent this summer. The Rossoneri have already contacted Velez and Almada’s agent to express their interest, and are willing to pay the €30m clause if the player agrees to join them.

Real Madrid are also monitoring Almada’s situation, as they are looking for young and talented players to rejuvenate their squad. The Spanish giants have a good relationship with Velez, as they signed Fernando Gago from them in 2007. Almada is a fan of Real Madrid, and has admitted that he would love to play for them in the future.

Manchester City are the third club in the race, as they have a close connection with Almada’s agent, Bruno Satin, who also represents Sergio Aguero. The Premier League champions are always on the lookout for the best young talents in the world, and Almada fits their profile. However, they may face some difficulties in obtaining a work permit for him, as he has not yet made his debut for the senior national team.

Almada is expected to make a decision on his future after the Copa America, which will take place in June and July. He is part of the preliminary squad for Argentina, and hopes to impress Lionel Scaloni and earn a place in the final list. He has already represented his country at the U20 and U23 levels, and has scored four goals in 11 games.

Almada is one of the most exciting players in South America, and has the potential to become a star in Europe. Milan, Real Madrid and Manchester City are all ready to battle for his signature, but who will win the race for the Argentine wonderkid?
