How Tomasson plans to beat Leeds despite touchline ban

Blackburn Rovers manager Jon Dahl Tomasson has revealed how he will cope with his touchline ban when his team faces Leeds United on Saturday. Tomasson was sent off for the first time in his career during the 3-1 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday last weekend. He was charged by the FA for misconduct and will miss the Leeds game as a result.

Tomasson said he will still be able to communicate with his staff and players from the stands, where he will sit next to media analyst Liam Holt. He will also be able to join the dressing room talks before the game and at half-time. He said he has everything set up and sorted for the game, and he trusts his assistant Remy Reijnierse to lead the team from the bench.

Tomasson admitted that he would prefer to be on the touchline, as he likes to support his team and see the game up close. However, he said he will also benefit from a higher perspective of the game, which some managers prefer. He said he is confident that his team can follow the game plan and execute it well.

Tomasson acknowledged that Leeds are a very strong opponent, with a Premier League budget and quality players. He said Leeds have been in great form lately, winning eight of their last 10 Championship games and climbing to third place in the table. He said Leeds have a lot of threats, especially in the wide areas, where they have players like Daniel James and Crysencio Summerville, and in attack, where they have Joel Piroe.

Tomasson said he expects Leeds to get promoted automatically at the end of the season, as they have everything they need to succeed. However, he said he still hopes to cause an upset and win the game. He said he believes his team can pose a challenge to Leeds, as they have done against other strong teams like Leicester City and Ipswich Town, even though they lost both games.

Tomasson said he is looking forward to a great atmosphere at Ewood Park, as Leeds are expected to bring over 7,000 fans to the game. He said football is for the fans, and he is glad that there will be a lot of people at the stadium. He said the attendance should surpass 20,000, which would be the second time this season, after the Preston North End derby a few weeks ago.
