Nick Hancock, the prominent radio host of Your Harrogate, is spearheading the 'Jail or Bail' fundraiser, a unique event that brings together a team of well-known figures from Harrogate BID, Vida Healthcare, Rudding Park, Harrogate District Chamber of Commerce, and Harrogate Town. The goal? To raise funds for the remarkable local charity, Saint Michael's Hospice.

The twist in this fundraising endeavor is that these "prisoners" are only released if they meet a specific fundraising target. But here's the good news – their "cell" for the day is the luxurious confines of The Harrogate Inn.

Nick Hancock, Presenter, and Creative Director at Your Harrogate, shared his motivation behind this initiative: "Working in the Harrogate district for so many years, you realize that pretty much everyone you meet has had some experience of the care and support offered by Saint Michael’s. This seemed like a great way to support this well-loved charity."

On the day of the event, these "prisoners" will find themselves "doing porridge" at The Harrogate Inn on Friday, October 27th, starting from 10 am. They'll have a tight four-hour window to come up with their "bail," relying on public donations via JustGiving to secure their release.

The volunteers taking part in this charitable escapade include notable figures like Matthew Mackeness from Rudding Park, James Rycroft from Vida Healthcare, Matthew Chapman, and Bethany Allen from Harrogate BID, and Harry Gator from Harrogate Town Football Club.

Tony Collins, the chief executive of Saint Michael’s Hospice, expressed his delight at this creative fundraising approach, saying, "We are delighted that Nick and his team have chosen to support us in this imaginative and fun way. The money they raise will make a real difference."

Join the 'Jail or Bail' fundraiser in Harrogate, where local celebrities come together to support Saint Michael's Hospice in an entertaining and meaningful way. Your participation can help make a real impact in the local community while enjoying a day of fun and charity support.
