Canelo Alvarez isn't one to dispute his critics; he acknowledges their observations. For nearly a year, Alvarez hasn't quite exhibited his usual dominance. His signature left hook doesn't have opponents reeling, and his right hand hasn't been delivering those knockout punches as of late. Even though he's not renowned for his speed, Alvarez has appeared slower than ever before.

Alvarez recognizes that his critics aren't just nitpicking for the sake of it. He's watched the tapes himself and reluctantly admits that he hasn't been the fighter he once was. He hasn't been as agile, failing to cut off the ring effectively, and lacking creativity in his offense.

However, there's a change in Alvarez's demeanor lately, thanks to a surgically repaired left wrist. While he could boast about his improvements, he'd rather demonstrate his resurgence in his upcoming bout against Jermell Charlo.

"I feel 100% right now," Alvarez shared with Premier Boxing Champions. "I can say a lot of things, but I want to show you on Saturday."

Charlo, the reigning 154-pound champion who has moved up in weight, is preparing to face the best version of Canelo Alvarez. At his peak, the 33-year-old Mexican is undoubtedly one of the top fighters globally.

Now, it's not uncommon for aging stars to proclaim their prime isn't behind them. They'll make the same age-old statements: "I'm in the best shape of my career," "This was my best training camp," or "I feel 25 again." Alvarez is no different. He relocated his training camp from San Diego to Truckee, California, training at higher altitudes, and it has infused him with newfound confidence.

If you're expecting the same Alvarez who appeared fatigued in the later rounds against Gennadiy Golovkin and John Ryder, think again. The rigorous training regimen, coupled with his personal motivation, has transformed Alvarez into a rejuvenated fighter.

"You're going to witness a different Canelo on Saturday night."
